Gatorade Honours Peyton Manning’s Storied Career

dear peyton

Back in March, and after a storied 18-year-run, NFL player Peyton Manning announced his retirement .

Over the course of his impressive 18-year career, he’s reached out to hundreds of people with sincere handwritten letters.

Recipients of his heartfelt letters and notes have included teammates and rivals, family and friends, coaches, celebrities and fans alike. Now, after 18 years, Gatorade pays tribute .

Gatorade, a brand that’s featured Peyton in their ads, along with other recipients of his famous notes, came together in this beautiful tribute ad honoring No. 18, “the Sheriff” using his own words and on the day of the NFL draft.

As part of the campaign, Gatorade and the agency have created a mural dedicated to Manning, which appears at the NFL draft village in Chicago through Sunday.

Brands that tell stories win…

This is another “touchdown” for Gatorade who previously also honoured New York Yankees’ Derek Jeter with their award-winning “Made in New York” spot.

Hats off to the folks at Gatorade and TBWA/Chiat/Day Los Angeles for such an amazing tribute and brilliant brand storytelling.

Happy retirement Peyton.
